CURISTEC Addresses Geothermal Drilling Challenges at SPE/GR Workshop
November 30, 2023Last week, at the ETIP Geothermal Annual Conference in Pisa, the Horizon Europe COMPASS Project presented its latest findings. The focus was on effective communication strategies for complex geothermal science aimed at policymakers and civil society.
Lead presenter Dario Bonciani from COSVIG showcased the project’s initial research results, emphasizing efforts to prevent the NIMBY syndrome and promote acceptance of geothermal projects. Attendees gained insights into practical approaches for bridging the gap between scientific complexity and public understanding.
The presentation sparked interest among conference participants, highlighting the potential impact of the COMPASS Project in advancing geothermal energy advocacy.
The European Technology & Innovation Platform on Geothermal (ETIP-G) also announced the release of its “Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda for Geothermal technologies”. This ground-breaking agenda is set to pave the way for the future of research and innovation in the geothermal sector, outlining research priorities for the upcoming decades.
